How accurate are Ovry Pregnancy Test Strips? Are they the same quality as the tests available for sale at the pharmacy?

When used correctly, Ovry Pregnancy Test Strips are over 99.7% accurate if used from the first day of your expected period. Ovry products offer the same accuracy and quality as the tests available from pharmacies. Our test strips are able to detect pregnancy just as soon (up to five days before the date of your expected period). Like all pregnancy tests, however, the accuracy of the results increase the longer you wait to take the test. In other words, you are more likely to get the most accurate result if you wait until the date of your expected period before testing. This is also why we recommend that if you are testing before the date of your expected period and you get a “negative” result, you take another test two days later to confirm the results.

I previously tested 'Pregnant' then did another test and got a 'Not Pregnant' result, or my period started. What does this mean?

The highest rate of miscarriage occurs during the first six weeks of pregnancy. Therefore, it is not uncommon for a test to detect pregnancy, then to find out that you are no longer pregnant at a later date. Since ultra-sensitive tests are able to detect lower levels of HCG, they produce positive results for all pregnancies, including those that occur very early on and might miscarry before any physical pregnancy symptoms manifest (including a missed period). These pregnancies are often referred to as “chemical pregnancies”. For this reason, we recommend that if you get a positive result with an ultra-sensitive Ovry Pregnancy Test Strip that you repeat the test with a fresh strip and a fresh urine sample after the date of your expected period, to confirm a positive result. If you are concerned about your results, seek medical advice.

Do you have to submerge Ovry Pregnancy Test Strips in the urine sample or can you just pee directly onto the test strip?

Ovry Pregnancy Test Strips are designed to be submerged into a urine sample, and not to be used as a midstream test. To achieve optimal accuracy, the test must be used exactly as instructed: each test strip should be submerged into the urine sample up to the “Max” line. Urinating into the sample cup does not alter the concentration of HCG at all and will not alter the results of the test.

My Ovry Pregnancy Test Strip says that I'm not pregnant, but I still think I might be. What should I do?

If you took a test before your expected period and you still think you are pregnant, we recommend waiting 48 hours and repeating the test with a fresh strip and a fresh urine sample. If you are in fact pregnant, waiting 48 hours allows the level of HCG to increase, which should produce a positive test by the date of your expected period. If the test is negative and you are past the date of your expected period, it is possible that:
- the concentration of HCG in your urine is not high enough yet to be detected
- you miscalculated the date of your expected period and are therefore testing too early in your menstrual cycle
- you are not pregnant
If you are more than two days late getting your period, repeat the test with a fresh strip and a fresh urine sample. If possible, try to limit your intake of fluids two hours before taking the test and collect the sample using your first urine of the day. If the test is negative again, but you still think you’re pregnant and you have not yet had your period, see your doctor.

How early can I take an Ovry Pregnancy Test Strip?

Like all pregnancy tests, the later in your menstrual cycle that you take the test, the more accurate the results. Ovry Pregnancy Test Strips can be used to detect pregnancy as early as five days before the date of your expected period. However, most women do not have enough HCG in their urine at that time to produce a positive test result. That’s why we recommend you wait until the date of your expected period before testing, in order to get a result that is over 99.7 % accurate.
